Dr. Gregory Patek
M.D., O.D., FAAEM, FACEP
Co-founder, Westside Free Clinic
Dr. Patek is an emergency medicine physician who works clinically at University Medical Center (UMC) in El Paso, TX. He is currently an associate program director for the emergency medicine residency program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. Dr. Patek enjoys his job helping the residents and medical students take care of patients who present to the emergency department at UMC. Dr. Patek is also the medical director for the Westside Pregnancy Center, the proposed site for the free clinic.
Dr. Patek and his family moved to El Paso 5 years ago and they love the community and people of El Paso. When not working, Dr. Patek enjoys being at home hanging out with his wife and their two children.
Rebecca Campos
M.D., F-AIHM, ABIHM
Dr. Campos is a physician who is a native of El Paso. She completed a residency in family medicine and has since practiced full-spectrum family care, meaning from pregnancy, delivery, newborn through adult care. She is currently an attending at TTUHSC-El Paso and is an Assistant Professor in Family Medicine and Integrative Medicine.
She completed a fellowship in integrative medicine to expand treatment options, such as herbal and botanical medicine, supplements and nutrition that align with patients’ goals. She also completed a physician acupuncture course to provide acupuncture treatments as an adjunct treatment option for a variety of conditions.
She was faculty at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa residency for years, where she served as clinic medical director and as a regional champion for population health for CHRISTUS Network in South Texas.
Erik Nordquist
MD, FACEP
Co-founder, Westside Free Clinic
Dr. Nordquist is an emergency physician. He works clinically at University Medical Center and is an associate program director for the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center emergency medicine residency program. Dr. Nordquist completed his residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL and has always been passionate about serving the underserved. When not working, he spends a lot of time watching his three children play fútbol.
Dr. Kristina Sinnott
M.D., Board-certified in Family Medicine
Dr. Sinnott is originally from the Des Moines area of Iowa. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and lived in Leogane, Haiti, for a year: “Ane pale kreyol, ti cras” (“A year of speaking Haitian Creole”). She returned to the states and attended medical school in Iowa. She lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for a year, then moved to Rochester, Minnesota, to train in family medicine.
Dr. Sinnott is board certified in family medicine, so she sees everyone including pregnant women. She has several years of experience working with addiction medicine and enjoys the variety that family medicine offers. She most recently lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and now lives with her husband and children in El Paso, Texas. Her husband is a fourth-generation El Pasoan. She speaks Spanish, and her family is happy to be home in El Paso.

Sara Dang
Iris Ham
Iris is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. She is a native Austinite and attended The University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
She is currently a leader in EP-HEAT, which focuses on health education and awareness for El Paso. Through EP-HEAT, she has developed an informational children’s book on diabetes and brochures about nutrition which are presented to community members. Outside of school, she enjoys arts and crafts, dancing, and cooking.
Namratha Kandru
Namratha is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. She grew up in Kansas but moved to Texas to attend the University of Texas at Dallas. There, she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Molecular Biology while working at an emergency department that largely cared for the underserved in the area.
Namratha is also currently working on her master’s in public health with the hopes of improving community access to and understanding of healthcare. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, and spending time with friends.
Jocelyn Olivares
Jocelyn is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. She is a native Dallasite and attended Texas A&M University, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. After graduating, she worked at UT Southwestern contributing to multiple projects and research papers geared toward improving outcomes for patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma.
She is currently a leader in the Women in Medicine, whose aim is to reach out, empower, and unit women from different healthcare fields. Outside of school, she enjoys painting, dancing, exercising, and spending time with her friends and cats.
Elizabeth Penner
Elizabeth is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine and a native El Pasoan, born and raised. She attended The University of Texas at El Paso, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biochemistry and obtained her master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from L. Frederick Francis Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Thereafter she worked at UT-Houston as a research assistant involved in conducting research in the field of laboratory medicine and infectious disease.
She is currently a leader in the Latino Medical Student Association which helps empower Latinos and gives the underrepresented in medicine a voice. Outside of school, she enjoys running at McKelligon Canyon, playing soccer, reading, and spending time with her family.
Ted Shi
Ted is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. He is a native Houstonian and attended The University of Texas at Austin. There, he was a part of the Dean’s Scholars Honors Program and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biology.
He is a contributing author to several scientific papers on his undergraduate work in neurodegenerative diseases and alcohol use disorder as well as his post-baccalaureate work seeking to reduce the perioperative use of opioids. Outside of school, he enjoys weight lifting, baking, and playing board games.
Boranai Tychhon
Boranai is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. She is from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She graduated from University of Houston-Downtown with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Microbiology. After graduating in Spring 2018, she worked as a research assistant in an epigenetics lab at Houston Methodist Research Institution until starting medical school in July 2021.
She is currently the President of the Medical Student Council for the Class of 2025. In addition, she is a part of the leadership team responsible for Rotacare, one of the medical student run clinics. She is responsible for the medical lab in the clinics, where she draws blood from patients and runs blood analysis inhouse or sends the samples out to the LabCorp. Outside of school, she loves working out at the gym, going out and exploring new restaurants, as well as cooking and sharing foods with her loved ones and friends.
