Ryan Campbell
M.D.
Co-founder, Westside Free Clinic
Dr. Campbell is a physician who is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine. He currently is an attending at UMC and practices in both departments. He did his residency training at LSU- Shreveport. Dr. Campbell is passionate about serving the under-served. He has done multiple medical mission trips internationally, including South America and Africa. He is also involved in teaching residents and medical students, participating in tactical medicine, and wilderness medicine.

Iris Ham
Iris is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. She is a native Austinite and attended The University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
She is currently a leader in EP-HEAT, which focuses on health education and awareness for El Paso. Through EP-HEAT, she has developed an informational children’s book on diabetes and brochures about nutrition which are presented to community members. Outside of school, she enjoys arts and crafts, dancing, and cooking.
Namratha Kandru
Namratha is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. She grew up in Kansas but moved to Texas to attend the University of Texas at Dallas. There, she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Molecular Biology while working at an emergency department that largely cared for the underserved in the area.
Namratha is also currently working on her master’s in public health with the hopes of improving community access to and understanding of healthcare. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, and spending time with friends.
Jocelyn Olivares
Jocelyn is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. She is a native Dallasite and attended Texas A&M University, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. After graduating, she worked at UT Southwestern contributing to multiple projects and research papers geared toward improving outcomes for patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma.
She is currently a leader in the Women in Medicine, whose aim is to reach out, empower, and unit women from different healthcare fields. Outside of school, she enjoys painting, dancing, exercising, and spending time with her friends and cats.
Ted Shi
Ted is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. He is a native Houstonian and attended The University of Texas at Austin. There, he was a part of the Dean’s Scholars Honors Program and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biology.
He is a contributing author to several scientific papers on his undergraduate work in neurodegenerative diseases and alcohol use disorder as well as his post-baccalaureate work seeking to reduce the perioperative use of opioids. Outside of school, he enjoys weight lifting, baking, and playing board games.
Boranai Tychhon
Boranai is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. She is from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She graduated from University of Houston-Downtown with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Microbiology. After graduating in Spring 2018, she worked as a research assistant in an epigenetics lab at Houston Methodist Research Institution until starting medical school in July 2021.
She is currently the President of the Medical Student Council for the Class of 2025. In addition, she is a part of the leadership team responsible for Rotacare, one of the medical student run clinics. She is responsible for the medical lab in the clinics, where she draws blood from patients and runs blood analysis inhouse or sends the samples out to the LabCorp. Outside of school, she loves working out at the gym, going out and exploring new restaurants, as well as cooking and sharing foods with her loved ones and friends.
Elizabeth Penner
Elizabeth is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine and a native El Pasoan, born and raised. She attended The University of Texas at El Paso, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biochemistry and obtained her master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from L. Frederick Francis Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Thereafter she worked at UT-Houston as a research assistant involved in conducting research in the field of laboratory medicine and infectious disease.
She is currently a leader in the Latino Medical Student Association which helps empower Latinos and gives the underrepresented in medicine a voice. Outside of school, she enjoys running at McKelligon Canyon, playing soccer, reading, and spending time with her family.

Mallorie Coltharp
Mallorie is a medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. She is a native El Pasoan that grew up on the westside of town and is passionate about helping her community. Seeing first hand how the westside of El Paso has often been overlooked in terms of need, she is excited for the potential to bring free healthcare to the underserved members of this area.
Mallorie graduated from Abilene Christian University in the spring of 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. During her time in Abilene, she volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Hendrick Equine Rehabilitation Opportunities. She also took part in several research projects encompassing organic chemistry, green chemistry, and nuclear chemistry. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing board games, and baking.
