The Westside Free Clinic hopes to fulfill the need for free, equitable, and accessible healthcare on the westside of El Paso.

Services

Primary care and Preventive Health

El Paso suffers from common chronic diseases; a delay in diagnosis and preventative care can ultimately lead to negative health outcomes and higher healthcare costs.  The Westside Free Clinic provides an opportunity for low income individuals in this area to receive health screenings without the burden of cost.

Well Visits and Preventive Care

Our clinic serves as an access point for primary care follow ups to provide continuity of care not only after the ER visits, but also for general follow ups and routine check ups.

Physicals and Immunizations

With access to health screenings and treatment at the Westside Free Clinic, we hope to decrease the prevalence of chronic illnesses, improve health outcomes, and lower susceptibility rates to all transmissible illnesses, such as COVID-19.

Patient Education

The Westside Free Clinic attempts to enhance our patients’ well-being through education (ex: nutrition) and access to care at health outreach events with local partners.

Send-out labs to Quest

We are partnered with Quest Diagnostics to provide labs be drawn at their facilities at no cost to you. These results will made accessible to our patients in their portals and at their next visit.

Social and Mental Health Services

We are able to provide referrals to mental health services with licensed professionals and connect patients to resources in the community for other services.

Mental Health

Mental health issues unique to the border region remain essentially unaddressed in the literature on Hispanic mental health; our clinic has partnered with several organizations to provide mental health counseling for our patients.

Social Work

Social workers are able to help patients to find resources: appropriate financial services, building sustainable support networks, and providing crisis intervention.

Referrals

Patients needing more specialized care are be referred to UMC/TTUHSC for further treatment. The WFC provides referrals for cancer prevention screenings, such as pap smears, and serves as a liaison/location for different collaborations with other existing services.
